The Video.js v10 default player is now 88% smaller than the size of the previous version’s (v8.x.x) default. A good chunk of those savings come from the decision to unbundle adaptive bitrate (ABR) support, which you could remove in the previous version by instead importing from video.js/core , but the majority of video.js installs just use the default bundle while also not using the adaptive streaming features. Comparing more similar apples, with ABR removed, the v10 default video player (HTML) is still 66% smaller than the size of the previous version, getting even smaller from there depending on which bundle you need.
